Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital > Patient's Info > Billing Information
Shortly after your discharge, the hospital will bill your insurance carrier for all covered expenses, which include charges for your room, medications and supplies, and inpatient ancillary services, such as x-rays, lab tests, physical therapy. Your personal physician and other attending specialists will bill you separately for their services (for example: Radiologist, Pathologist, Cardiologist, Surgeon, Anesthetist).
You will receive a statement of your account regularly, which reflects all payments received by your insurance carrier, Medicare, Medicaid, and/or personal payments. Any balance remaining after your insurance pays will be your responsibility.
The information provided by Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital is a comprehensive list of charges for each inpatient and outpatient service or item provided by a hospital, also known as a chargemaster. It is not a helpful tool for patients to comparison shop between hospitals or to estimate what health care services are going to cost. Most patients are more interested in what their exact services are going to cost them personally, after their insurance has considered the charges, and applied the benefits in their insurance policy. Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital staff are available to provide you with a customized estimate for your services, as well as working with you to meet the financial costs of your healthcare. If your healthcare provider has ordered services for you, please contact our financial assistance representatives at 316-321-8745 (for patients last name A-K) or 316-321-8765 (for patients last name L-Z), Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
